Based on columnist Walter Winchell, and played by Burt Lancaster, J.J. Hunsecker, is the most powerful newspaper columnist in New York. This gives him an enormous amount of influence over public opinion. One problem, he does not approve of, and can't control, his sister's latest love affair. However, he is determined to prevent her relationship with jazz musician Steve Dallas, from going any further. His obsession is such that he hires an unscrupulous press agent, Sidney Falco, to end the affair in any way he deems necessary, just do it! Starring: Burt Lancaster, Tony Curtis, Susan Harrison and Martin Milner.
